Rachel Whydle Ceramics X The Floral Potager

Handmade vessels
designed for flowers

Several years ago I met Rachel when she contacted me for some dried flowers for her beautiful vases and we soon bonded over a shared love of flowers and ceramics! Rachel very kindly made some bespoke bud vases for me and over the last couple of years we have developed and refined a set of vessels which are perfect for displaying flowers, which I love to use at home and for weddings.

Rachel first started making pottery in the 80's when she worked as a workshop assistant at Camphill. She has since continued her training with courses and workshops and developed her style in her home studio in Banwell, Somerset. Rachel focusses on practical items - that you can use on a daily basis in simple but beautiful forms.

This collection is a culmination of our collaboration and consists of a range of tried and tested vessels in different shapes and sizes. All our vessels are made from stoneware, glazed with a matt almond milk glaze and are twice fired; the first bisque fire is at 1000°C and the second glaze fire is at 1245°C.  They are made in small batches and are unique, each is slightly different in size and shape due to their handmade nature. They are designed to work together as a collection, combining whichever shapes and types you wish.
