I wanted to try and capture some of the delicate beauty of our grass meadow at the moment - there most be dozens of different species flowering at the moment and as you walk through you notice how alive it is with so many butterflies and other pollinators. I've been wanting to try doing a floral foam free planter so this was created with a wooden box filled with containers for water and several layers of chicken wire. I added some delicate flowers to compliment the grasses; Linaria purpurea 'Canon Went', Stachys sylvatica (hedge nettle, grows wild in our hedges) and Gypsophila elegans 'Kermesina'. Three days later and its still looking very happy and fresh, bringing a bit of the wild meadow into the house.
